Abbazia di Novacella Wine Tasting

Enoteca Drago is hosting an Abbazia di Novacella Wine Tasting on Wednesday, October 1st, 2008. Join us any time after 5pm in the bar area and enjoy delicious wines and appetizers for just $25.00, plus tax and gratuity. Bring friends, make some new ones and you might even learn a little something about wine.

"Founded in 1142 this is one of the oldest winery in the world. The Abbey was built in the middle of the vineyards, located between 600 metres above sea level. The moranic nature of the soil is particularly suitable to grow aromatic white grapes like: Sylvaner, Muller Thurgau, Veltiner, Kerner and Gewurztraminer.

Due to the method of planting, Guyot, along with the altitude and continental climate, the production per hectare is limited to 90 quintals. The modern stainless steel equipment of the cellar contrasts with the antiquity of the Abbey but is perfect to store and enhance the typical freshness of these white wines."
